Celebrate Our Independence and All of Its Glory!
4th of July
For many of us the 4th of July is a day when we BBQ with friends and family, sport some red, white and blue, catch a local parade and watch the fireworks. It is a holiday that is built around patriotism and tradition. If your hometown isn't putting on a celebration of its own, then why not join fellow Vermonters in neighboring town and enjoy the holiday:
Thursday, July 3
Friday, July 4
- 60th Annual 4th of July Celebration in Warren - If you want to celebrate big, this is where you want to be. You and 7,000 of your closest friends can enjoy the festivities together!
- Town of Hinesburg - Here the parade starts at 11:00 and afternoon fun includes a book sale, a carnival, an ice cream social and fireworks at night.
- Town of Williston - This town turns 4th of July into a 3-day holiday! It starts Wednesday night with bike races, and Thursday night there is ice cream social. But the big day is where it's at with a parade, an open house at the fire department, frog jumping contest, basketball shooting contest, an exhibition baseball game and fireworks at night.
In case your teen needs a little time away from the family come Saturday night, check out Teen Night at Sports and Fitness Edge with Black Light Volley Ball. It might be just what he/she needs for a few hours of fun with friends.
And as always, check the calendar for all of the local celebrations and other events going on this weekend.
Happy 4th!
